Classrooms
Our program is divided into age and developmentally appropriate classes. While each classroom has its own focus and curriculum, we are one cohesive school. We have many special events, school-wide activities (especially during the summer), and we are locally-owned with a family feel. We look forward to helping your child thrive.
Caterpillars
Approximately six weeks to 12 months
Our Caterpillar classroom teachers provide our youngest children with personal attention and responsive care to help them develop trust and foster healthy development. Babies are held, nurtured, and guided through the wonderful world of language by using sound, songs and gestures. We work together with each parent to understand their baby's needs to establish and maintain each baby’s daily schedule with respect to feeding, napping, and other personal habits. Our team works to create a positive bond with each child by using age appropriate strategies and activities in each area of the Creative Curriculum, reading stories, sharing music, and building strengths as the children reach their milestones. Parents do not miss a thing as it is all captured on the LifeCubby app.
Rolly Polly Beetles
Approximately 12 months to 18 months
Once a child begins to walk independently, they will graduate to our Rolly Polly classroom. Toddlers have the opportunity to explore and discover with the guidance and support of our dedicated teachers. As a Rolly Polly, each child will participate in activities that develop gross and fine motor skills, receptive and expressive language, and relationship skills. Our teachers create individualized monthly lesson plans for each child based on that child’s needs, detailing activities for each developmental concept (literacy, math, etc.) as well as the strategy the teachers will utilize to help the child meet the goal. Curiosity is nourished daily, helping children learn and grow.
Lady Bugs
Approximately 18 months to 24 months
As children’s language develops, a more consistent routine is introduced into the classroom with a variety of teacher-guided activities. We also ensure plenty of time for free-play and creativity, which provide immeasurable learning opportunities for building physical, language, social and cognitive skills. Our teachers lay the foundation for the children to learn to play interactively with others by listening and problem-solving in an environment that is warm, respectful, and supportive. Developmentally-appropriate individualized lesson plans are incorporated through monthly themes.
Bumble Bees
Approximately two years old
Greater independence emerges around the time children turn two, and our Bumble Bees are given a variety of stimulating activities and the freedom to learn and explore. Our Bumble Bee teachers plan engaging weekly themes, incorporating the Creative Curriculum concepts in everything they do. For example, if the children are reading a book about monkey habitats in science, they may read a fun book about monkeys during circle time, and create an “M is for Monkeys” art project during the same week. Monitored free-play provides additional learning experiences for these curious two-year-olds as they continue to build their physical, language, social, and cognitive skills. Another BIG milestone in this classroom is potty training. Our teachers work collaboratively with parents to help their little ones reach this goal.
Grasshoppers
Approximately three years old
As the children in our program grow, so do our expectations for them! Our ultimate goal is for each child to be a successful and eager lifetime learner. Presenting learning as fun and exciting is key; we do this daily while also encouraging self-discovery and confidence. Our Grasshoppers explore their classroom independently, with a friend, or in small groups, to build on the foundation of interactive play and problem-solving. Each Grasshopper chooses which center they want to work at each day using the Classroom Management Board, and each child has their own classroom “job.” Computers are an everyday component of the classroom, allowing children to practice their skills at their own pace, and SMART Boards are used for educational lessons.
Butterflies
Approximately four to five years old
The Butterfly room is our pre-kindergarten program, designed to prepare children for success in school. The Butterflies follow a schedule and perform activities that will make the transition to kindergarten smooth. Each day begins with the children writing their name, then answering an age-appropriate question of the day. To encourage success, children are supported and nurtured in all areas of development. Our Butterflies learn in a visual and child-focused manner, at each child’s own pace. SMART Boards are used for educational lessons.
