The Adult RTC program is designed for persons age 18 and older with serious mental illness, including individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders or developmental disabilities.
Our goal is to help our residents achieve the highest level of independence and community functioning possible within their recovery.
Adult RTC Provides a Variety of Care Services
Our comprehensive services include psychiatric evaluation and monitoring, prescription medication management and monitoring, psychotherapy, care management, supported employment and education, psychoeducation, supervision, and skill development in the areas of illness management and independent living.
Residents in Adult RTC are within the Sheppard Pratt system of care, which means they can be readily connected to both higher and lower levels of care, as well as specialized expertise in specific disorders and diagnoses. Our clinicians understand the importance of a multi-pronged approach and are willing and able to utilize the breadth of services Sheppard Pratt offers to create a successful treatment plan.
Adult RTC services are resident centered. Each resident’s stay is structured around their individual needs. Clinicians strive to provide a balance of programming, community integration, one-on-one therapy, and/or any other specialized services required. Members of our staff are on site around the clock, ensuring care, safety, and assistance are provided to residents at all times.
Services include:
- Safe, stable, and convenient housing
- Individual and group therapy
- Medication provision and monitoring
- Educational support and vocational services
- A holistic approach to health, including an on-staff dietitian and personal trainer
- Access to art and music therapy
- Access to equine therapy
- Access and transportation to ECT, TMS, or any other local service required
- Assistance and accompaniment to those navigating the legal system
Enrollment Information
Potential Adult RTC residents who intend to pay via their insurance carrier need to obtain a referral and provide their medical records at time of intake, prior to enrollment. To meet our level of care, they need to have shown that they require a higher level of support than traditional community services can offer. This typically means a potential resident has a history of trying lower levels of care—such as outpatient or other residential options with less support—with no success.
Those opting for private pay are welcome to self-enroll in the program.
