Dr. Ikwunga Wonodi is the service chief of both the Orchard Unit and Thought Disorders Day Hospital at Sheppard Pratt's Baltimore/Washington Campus. He is the chair of the Sheppard Pratt Physician Practice Association Peer Review Committee. Dr. Wonodi completed his psychiatry residency at University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt and a fellowship in schizophrenia research at the Maryland Psychiatric Research Center (MPRC). He earned his MD at University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, and an M.B.A in Healthcare Management from the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. He is board certified in general psychiatry.
In addition to his work at Sheppard Pratt, Dr. Wonodi is an adjunct associate professor of psychiatry at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and leads collaborative NIH-funded biomarker studies between Sheppard Pratt and MPRC. He is the recipient of awards for clinical education, community service and activities to eliminate mental health disparities. Dr. Wonodi serves on the board of the Black Psychiatrists of America.
