Ahmed A. Fayed, MD, is a psychiatrist on the Adult Service Line at Sheppard Pratt’s Towson Hospital. He earned a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBCh) from the University of Alexandria, followed by a master’s degree in neuropsychiatry from the University of Ain Shams. Dr. Fayed has completed a residency in psychiatry at the Abasia Psychiatric Hospital in Cairo and a residency in psychiatry at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He is ECFMG certified, licensed in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Maryland, and board-certified in psychiatry and neurology.  During his residency in psychiatry, he worked as a clinical instructor at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine (Case Western Reserve University). After completing psychiatric residency, he worked as a staff psychiatrist at Fairmount Behavioral Health System, and then as an assistant professor of clinical psychiatry at University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Fayed’s research interests include psychopharmacology, psychosis, improving psychiatric teaching, and mental health of refugees. He won the Cleveland Clinic “Excellence in Teaching” Award and the American Psychoanalytic Association Fellowship. Dr. Fayed is fluent in English and Arabic.
