Arachchige Pubudini Muthukuda, MD is the service chief of the Adolescent Inpatient Unit at Sheppard Pratt’s Baltimore/Washington Campusand medical director for the Outpatient Mental Health Clinic in Columbia. She is double board certified in adult psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. Dr. Muthukuda earned a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery from the North Columbo Medical College at the University of Kelaniya. She began her career working in pediatric surgery. When she came to Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center, Dr. Muthukuda completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry. In subsequent years, she worked as a psychiatrist at Rikers Island, Brooklane Health System, Villa Maria Behavioral Health, and Sheppard Pratt, where she worked on Psychiatric Urgent Care, other programs for co-occurring disorders, and in other roles on the adolescent inpatient unit.  Her research interests include inborn errors contributing to autism, the opioid epidemic, general addiction psychiatry, and neurogenesis with the use of psychiatric medications. Dr. Muthukuda is also a member of the Washington D.C. Psychiatric Society.
