Inspiring hope and transforming lives requires that Sheppard Pratt recruit and retain the nation’s leading clinical professionals and educators. While mental health needs are increasing, half of all psychiatrists are slated to retire in the next decade.

Private support will help us address the growing shortage of psychiatrists and ensure that Sheppard Pratt is able to hire the most gifted clinicians.

Our highly regarded residency program, which currently trains 63 physicians per year, will be expanded to grow the best and brightest psychiatrists and equip them with rich clinical experiences at the highest level of specialized services. Across all of our clinical teams and teaching staff, we will establish retention funds that will stem the loss of talent to other healthcare centers and schools.

Through this campaign, we also will create endowed positions in key leadership areas, enabling Sheppard Pratt to lead the field by attracting the top clinical professionals and educators. In addition, a robust new professional development program will aid in retention and ensure state-of-the-art services across Sheppard Pratt Health System.
