Volunteer/Internship Information

Volunteering at Sheppard Pratt Health System

Our volunteers are dedicated members of the Sheppard Pratt Health System team. We have exciting opportunities for volunteers in our gift shop and bargain nook on our Towson campus, and also have opportunities to participate in pastoral care and pet visiting on either our Towson campus or Ellicott City campus. Individuals who wish to participate in pet visiting must register with either Pets on Wheels or Therapy Pets Unlimited.

We offer volunteer opportunities to candidates at least 18 years of age. Candidates must successfully complete orientation to the Health System, tuberculosis testing, and receive a flu vaccination prior to volunteering.

Interning at Sheppard Pratt Health System

Our interns are vital to our mission to provide the best, most compassionate care. We offer internships for college credit for college juniors and seniors, and clinical placements for master’s level students. We have opportunities throughout both the fall and spring semesters for interns. Placements are available on our inpatient units and in our day hospitals on our Towson and Ellicott City campuses, and within our day schools throughout the state of Maryland.

Please note: the number of volunteer/internship opportunities currently available may vary based on supervisor availability.

Intern candidates must successfully complete orientation to the Health System, tuberculosis testing, and receive a flu vaccination prior to beginning their internship.
