At Early Head Start, we offer two programs. Both programs offer both family goal-setting and high-quality child-centered services. Parents receive education prior to and after giving birth focusing on prenatal and child development education, including labor and delivery education, breastfeeding support, and basic infant care helping to ensure that parenting is less stressful. Additionally, our staff works with each family on setting appropriate and realistic goals to help ensure that their family can thrive as well as it can. Goals are individually set and can range from getting a driver’s license, to finding a job, to paying off a debt. We work with each family to create a plan to reach the goal, and help find resources to make the goals possible.

Both programs use the Creative Curriculum for Child Development focusing on:

  • Literacy skills

  • Organization

  • Fine and gross motor development

  • Socialization

All of these activities are taught with age-appropriate methods including music, manipulatives, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, and more. Research has shown that children enrolled in Early Head Start have performed significantly better on certain developmental tests.
