Sheppard Pratt Funds

Sheppard Pratt is a non-profit health system that has been providing a full range of mental health, special education, and addiction programs and services to meet the needs of children, adolescents, adults, and older adults, for more than 120 years.

To continue providing our patients and students with the specialized care they need in a supportive and compassionate environment, we have identified several ways you can help:

Care for Kids Fund

Sheppard Pratt is Maryland's largest provider of mental health services for children. We serve over 20,000 children annually. To better care for our children and their families, we are continually expanding our services.

This fund provides our pediatric patients and students, who are as young as five  years old, with essential needs and therapeutically beneficial activities. Donations are directed to children in our inpatient, outpatient, residential, and special education programs. Funds raised provide our youngest patients with things like art supplies, musical instruments, holiday gifts, and much more.

Patient Care Fund

At Sheppard Pratt, patients receive the highest quality care regardless of their financial situation. Our specialized programs provide treatment for developmental disabilities, eating disorders, geriatrics, and trauma disorders, among others.

This fund provides essential programmatic and clinical support to our patients, so they can live meaningful and successful lives. Contributions provide things like clothing, educational materials, and recreational activities.

Research Fund

This fund aims to further the research and clinical mission of Sheppard Pratt Health System. A key component of that mission is a focus on the study and treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, as there is scant data documenting or reporting on the best long-term treatments for these chronic conditions.

One of the best ways to fight the stigma that blocks far too many people from seeking help is to conduct applicable, realistic research that demonstrates mental illness is not a personal weakness and that remedies do work.

Special Education Fund

Our schools, which offer both vocational and academic curricula, provide the treatment and education necessary to equip our children and adolescents with the tools they need to serve as productive members of their communities.

This fund supports our special education program to facilitiate the academic and emotional growth of students with autism and emotional disabilities. Donations support things like technology enhancements, books, outdoor play areas, playground equipment, and field trips.
