Hannah More School at Severna Park High School is a 10-month special education program, located in Millersville Elementary School, in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, that provides educational services to students ages 14 to 21 with autism spectrum disorder and emotional disabilities.

Our program is designed to meet a child’s special education needs while providing maximum opportunity to integrate him or her into Severna Park High School’s educational program. Once enrolled, our experienced staff will review the Individualized Education Program (IEP) and modify our instructional areas to fit the student’s needs to ensure maximum growth. Our students spend as much or as little time in the Hannah More School Program as necessary to meet their special education needs, spending the rest of their time in the public school program. Students in our program have access to all of the school’s facilities, including the media center, cafeteria, and computer lab.

Utilizing a student-centric, team-based approach, we implement the Anne Arundel Public School Curriculum, to help our students transition into and thrive in the public school setting.

We understand the importance of engaging parents in the education of their child, and provide daily updates in addition to routinely scheduled meetings with the school clinicians to ensure the parent is kept informed as to the student’s progress. Parents and students also have the opportunity to participate in Severna Park High School’s activities and events, as well as receive the Severna Park High School newsletter each August, January and June.

As part of Sheppard Pratt Health System, our passionate, dedicated staff has access to the best training, treatment practices, and technology, which in turn enables us to provide the best education possible to our students.  We actively collaborate with other Health System schools and professionals to share learnings and strategies that can be used within our programs.

Our related services include:
