When your loved one is staying on the General Adult Unit, they will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of therapeutic programming. Through our breadth of offerings, we work to help individuals get through their current crisis and return to a less-intensive level of care.

Length of Stay

The average length of stay on our unit is five to seven days; some individuals need less time to stabilize and return home, and some may need more time. Each course of treatment is highly individualized to the patient so we can ensure they are receiving exactly the kind of care that they need to begin healing while simultaneously staying as safe as possible.

Types of Treatment

We utilize a dialectical behavior therapy-informed approach (DBT) in a lot of our programming. We have found that DBT can be therapeutic and effective for everyone we serve. Beyond our overarching DBT-informed approach, our treatment team develops an individualized treatment plan for each patient to ensure that they have the support they need to best work towards recovery.

During their stay, individuals can expect to receive:

  • Daily medication management and meetings with a healthcare professional

  • Intensive, daily therapeutic programming

  • Psychoeducational groups on a variety of topics such as:

    • Substance use education

    • Relapse prevention

    • Smoking cessation

    • Communication and coping skills and strategies

    • Stress management

    • Medication education

Beyond caring for mental and physical health, we ensure that any religious needs an individual has are met; we find that many people in our care crave a spiritual connection. We can arrange visits from spiritual and religious leaders at a patient’s request.
