Shawmickia Simmons, LCSW-C, is the program director of Sheppard Pratt’s Baltimore School-Based Mental Health Program. In her role, she oversees and provides clinical supervision to a team of therapists embedded in Baltimore City Public Schools. Prior to joining Sheppard Pratt, Simmons held clinician roles at Kaiser Permanente and Kennedy Krieger Institute. 

Simmons earned her MSW at University of Maryland Baltimore and completed a BA in psychology and family science at University of Maryland, College Park. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Public Health with a concentration in healthy equity and social justice at Johns Hopkins University’s Bloomberg School of Public Health. 

Simmons has completed extensive training in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), attachment therapy, crisis management, and more.
