Dr. Rajan Dunne is a board-certified psychiatrist whose approach integrates evidence-based medicine with a deep commitment to caring for the whole person. She studied at the University of California, Berkeley before attending medical school at Touro University California and completing her psychiatry residency at the University of Arizona. She holds additional certifications in integrative medicine from the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine and in psychedelic-assisted therapies and research from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Her career bridges academic medicine, research, private practice, and residential treatment, including work on clinical trials investigating novel treatments for depression, OCD, and PTSD.
Dr. Dunne is drawn to the questions underneath the symptoms—how someone came to be where they are, and what it would mean for them to be well. She takes the time to understand each person from multiple angles—not just their diagnosis, but their story, their values, and the life they want to cultivate. Her approach is thoughtfully personalized, drawing from a range of modalities that include psychotherapy, medication, nutritional and lifestyle interventions, and mind-body practices. Those who work with her consistently describe a sense of safety, genuine care, and confidence that the path forward is one designed specifically for them.
At The Retreat, Dr. Dunne partners with residents during a pivotal time in their lives. The residential setting offers something distinct: the sustained attention, clinical depth, and collaborative relationships that can support lasting change. She sees this work as a deep honor—to sit with someone, hold a vision of what's possible for them, and help them find their way through.
