Nishina Thomas, MD

Nishina Thomas, MD, is the service chief of the geriatric psychiatry unit at Sheppard Pratt’s hospital in Towson, Maryland. She earned her bachelor’s in Physiology at Boston University, her MD at the University of Texas in San Antonio, completed her residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, and completed her fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at Stanford University Hospitals and Clinics. Prior to joining Sheppard Pratt in Maryland, Dr. Thomas gained experience in California at the Palo Alto Veterans Affairs Hospital, Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, El Camino Hospital, and the Felton Institute. Double board certified in psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry, Dr. Thomas has also completed training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. She is a member of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry.
