Day School
A day school, as opposed to a residential school, is a school where students are provided educational instruction during the day, and return home at night.
A therapeutic day school is a day school for students who need extra support after experiencing difficulties in a traditional academic setting; usually, these difficulties are due to a mental or behavioral disability. Therapeutic day schools provide special education services as well as additional supports such as:
- Therapy
- Counseling
- Social skills
- Behavior modification
- Small class sizes
- Individualized instruction
