A positive body image is seeing your body as it truly is – having accurate pictures of the shape and size of the parts of your body and feeling comfortable with who are. Negative body image is having an altered or distorted vision of your body, being self-conscious and feeling shameful about all or parts of your body, or seeing faults in yourself in comparison to others. Having a positive/healthy body image is important to a person’s overall wellbeing, as a negative body image can lead to mental health disorders and eating disorders.
