Harm reduction operates both as a set of health interventions, and as a social justice movement. This online workshop provides a guided discussion of the philosophy, principles, and practice of harm reduction.
Learning Objectives
After this lecture, registrants will be able to:
- Describe the ways that harm reduction can be used to build programs that support and empower people who use drugs (PWUD) and people engaging in sex work (PESW).
- Develop tools and strategies to understand different types of harms and how to mitigate these harms based on client needs and desires.
- Discuss the importance of using non-stigmatizing, person first language when working with or addressing people who use drugs or engage in sex work.
