Who We Serve

We serve children and teens up to age 18 who live in Frederick County and their families. In order to qualify to receive services, a child/teen must be at risk of harming themselves or someone else. A parent/legal guardian must be present and give permission for our team to provide care.

Our Services

Our therapist has one primary goal: to resolve the current crisis a child/teen is experiencing. We provide in-home crisis intervention and referrals to higher levels of care. Our therapist will assess the situation, and will provide in-home crisis intervention techniques. The therapist will also work with the youth and the family to create a safety roadmap that can be followed if issues arise in the future.

After addressing the immediate crisis, our therapist will connect the individual with the right next level of care, whether that is a hospital, an outpatient program, or another resource. We also follow up within 48 hours to check in on the family to ensure that things are going well and to offer additional support.

What to Expect from Frederick County Children's Mobile Crisis

Once an individual calls the 211 hotline, a call will be routed to our team. One of our licensed therapists will assess the situation and reach out directly to the person in crisis. The therapist will provide an estimated time of arrival; once they arrive, usually within two hours, they will provide in-home crisis intervention. The therapist will also work with the youth and the family to create a safety roadmap that can be followed if issues arise in the future.
