Paying for TMS Services
Sheppard Pratt accepts multiple commercial insurance providers, as well as Medicare and Maryland Medicaid, as payment for transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) services. We also accept self-pay patients/patients who choose to pay for services without using insurance.
Most forms of insurance have the following eligibility requirements for covering TMS:
- Current primary diagnosis of major depressive disorder – recurrent, severe, or single episode – severe
- A history of failing or not responding to 2 or more psychopharmacological treatments for depression, such as SSRIs, SNRIs, tricyclic antidepressants, or others
- A history of evidence-based psychotherapy
We will verify your insurance benefits as part of the intake process and discuss them with you.
Please contact our team (TMSoutpatient@sheppardpratt.org or 410-938-5100) with any questions about costs and insurance coverage.
