When Theo Robertson learned about GEICO’s ‘Fast Pitch Program,’ he knew he had a powerful pitch with potential.
Theo—a senior cybersecurity engineer at GEICO—got his start at Sheppard Pratt School in Cumberland, where he was a behavioral specialist for six years. Known as “Bobertson” to his students, Theo looks back on his time with Sheppard Pratt fondly.
“Working at Sheppard Pratt was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. I saw how much of a difference we could make. Giving back to an organization that gave so much to me and those kids was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up,” he says.
When GEICO announced its annual ‘Fast Pitch Program’—an opportunity for employees to pitch for funds for their favorite charity—Theo jumped at the chance to pitch Sheppard Pratt. He shared his passion for the organization, which meets the mental health needs of more than 15,000 youth every year, and stories of his transformative experience working at Sheppard Pratt School in Cumberland.
Theo won $7,500, which will be used to purchase iPads and assistive learning devices in Sheppard Pratt Schools throughout Maryland.
