Child and adolescent day hospital/partial hospitalization program (PHP)

Back-to-school season can be stressful for kids and parents alike. But if heading back to school has led to concerning behaviors, increased anxiety, or depression, it's time to ask for help. Sheppard Pratt is here for all your family's mental health needs.

At Sheppard Pratt, our team of experienced, compassionate mental health professionals will equip your child with the tools they need to understand and manage their mental health challenges so they can thrive at school and at home.

Child workingOur child and adolescent day hospital, also called a partial hospitalization program (PHP), provides compassionate care in a group setting Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m., meaning your child has support from licensed professionals all day. Our participants go home each afternoon and typically participate in our program for 2 – 3 weeks.

We offer more than six hours of age-appropriate programming each day. Below is a typical schedule.

8:00 - 8:30 a.m. Check-In and Self-Assessment
8:30 - 9:30 a.m. Group 1: Community Meeting & Goals
9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Group 2: Psychotherapy
10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Group 3: What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy?
11:30 a.m. - 12:20 p.m. Group 4: Identifying Negative Thoughts
12:20 - 1:10 p.m. Lunch
1:10 - 2:10 p.m. Group 5: Self Esteem
2:10 - 3:00 p.m. Group 6: Mindful Movement and Creative Expression
3:00 p.m. Wrap Up & Check Out
