Motivational Enhancement Therapy/Cognitive Behavioral Therapy 5 (MET/CBT5)

Behavioral Health providers need to know how to provide effective substance abuse treatment to adolescents engaged in cannabis substance misuse. Motivational Enhancement Therapy/Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: 5 Sessions (MET/CBT5) is an evidence-based intervention developed to help behavioral health providers conduct a brief five-session treatment intervention for adolescents engaged in cannabis misuse. MET/CBT5 is a cost-effective approach that has proven effectiveness and is culturally sensitive. Participants will develop MET skills to help motivate clients to change, and utilize CBT help clients learn skills to cope with problems and meet their needs in a way that does not involve turning to substance use.
