Art for Justice

Every year, Sheppard Pratt’s Rehabilitation and Recovery programs seek ways for clients to showcase their artistic talents through an art show featuring a variety of mediums.

For the 2020 show, titled Art for Justice, clients were prompted to share their experiences as they relate to injustices experienced by marginalized communities, particularly in relation to social justice and the current climate.

Our first-ever virtual show launched last fall and featured artwork from approximately 100 clients across 10 programs. Our artists all live with various mental health disorders.

Through Art for Justice, clients and staff alike showed their support for peaceful self-expression in addition to their respect and acknowledgment of diversity, inclusion, and unity—in alignment with Sheppard Pratt’s guiding principles.
