This holiday season, give your children the best gift of all—better mental health.

Our child and adolescent day hospital (partial hospitalization program) provides a warm and welcoming environment for younger patients ages 10 and 17 who would benefit from a higher level of support than can be provided in an outpatient setting. Similar to school, participants receive instruction, learning tools and techniques in a group setting from Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Our patients go home each afternoon. People typically participate in our program for 2 – 3 weeks and achieve improved outcomes. If your son or daughter has been struggling with their mental health this year, take advantage of holiday flexibility to help them get back on track. This holiday season, invest in your child's well-being—and lead your family into 2026 feeling renewed, restored, and ready for what’s next.

Let's make a plan

Help your child get healthy for the holidays

We can help you make a plan to get healthy this holiday season.

Our mental health experts work with children and adolescents experiencing depression, anxiety, OCD, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant disorder and related mental health conditions. Parents often reach out to us when their children are struggling in school due to their mental health and periodic sessions with a counselor or therapist isn't making sufficient progress. This program is designed for youth between 10 and 18. We also have a separate program for adults over 18.

Why This Might be the Right Choice for your family.

Spending time at the day hospital is a meaningful step toward a brighter future for your children. Finding the right time isn’t always easy, but the holidays can often be the ideal moment to begin.

We work with children just like yours who have a bright future but have been struggling this year and need more expert help than outpatient care can provide.

If this year has taken a toll on your son or daughters mental health, the reduced demands of school during the holidays can make it an ideal time to focus on healing.

Sheppard Pratt is consistently recognized as a top mental health hospital by U.S. News & World Report; we provide unparalleled access to world-class mental health experts and resources.

Your children will go home each afternoon so there will be plenty of time for holiday celebrations with family and friends.

The staff are great, the social workers and doctors are very experienced and savvy. They were able to figure out the causes of the behavioral issues on a more detailed level. The treatment helped so much. She came home much improved.

I had an incredible life changing experience at Sheppard Pratt. I did the Adult Day Hospital Program. I felt At Home, Accepted, Understood, Safe, Cared About, and so much more! I learned so much about myself, an understanding of mental illnesses, how to live healthy (mind and body), how to cope, how to heal…and more. Good day or bad…I now have a positive direction and outlook.
