Dr. Marina Nikhinson is a psychiatrist at The Retreat at Sheppard Pratt, and has a strong interest in the treatment of mood, anxiety, and personality disorders. She greatly values The Retreat's multidisciplinary view of psychiatric illness and treatment. Dr. Nikhinson offers a psychotherapeutic approach that is tailored to each of her patients unique situations through psychodynamic, behavioral, and pharmacological interventions. She has completed specialized training in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) as well as mentalization based therapy (MBT) for treatment of emotion dysregulation disorder and borderline personality features. Dr. Nikhinson particularly enjoys exploring issues of attachment and early emotional development as pathways to shaping mental health. In addition to her work at The Retreat, Dr. Nikhinson teaches principles of psychotherapy and clinically supervises psychiatrists in training. She is board certified in general psychiatry.
