Sheppard Pratt School in Severn River Middle School is a 10-month special education program located within Severn River Middle School in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Our program serves students in grades six through eight, ages 11 to 15, with autism spectrum disorder, emotional disabilities, and related disorders. Our location within Severn River Middle School provides us shared access to the school’s facilities and resources.

Our experienced, compassionate team understands that every child learns differently and deserves individualized instruction and support. When you walk into our classrooms, you will notice staff working diligently to support our students’ academic and social learning.

Our dedicated multidisciplinary team includes a certified education director, coordinator, special education teachers, a social worker, a speech-language pathologist, an occupational therapist, and educational assistants. We help prepare students for their academic futures using Anne Arundel County Public School’s curriculum, and we provide support in general education classrooms. Our mission is to meet our students’ educational goals and prepare them for life beyond the classroom.

Admissions

We currently have capacity for 18 students in our program. We only receive referrals from Anne Arundel County School’s Non-Public Office. 

Sheppard Pratt School in Severn River Middle School is a Type II School, approved by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE).
