Alzheimer’s disease isn’t only stressful for the person who has it – it’s hard on caregivers, too. We are exploring ways to enhance thinking and cognition so the decline commonly associated with dementia doesn’t seem quite as steep, so we can improve quality of life for patients and their families.

Current Studies

  • Novel use of a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) to improve cognition in people with dementia. Does adding an SSRI to ongoing dementia treatment improve cognition? We have high hopes that this innovative use of a common drug can make life better for people with dementia and their families.
