Fenton General Adult Unit – Ellicott City
Medical Director: Sunil Khushalani, M.D.
Service Chief: Khizar Khan, M.D.
Unit Manager: Thera Blehar
Admission Information: 410-938-3800
The Fenton General Adult Unit is an 18-bed unit on our Ellicott City campus that serves adults 18 and older with a wide variety of psychiatric diagnoses, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and psychotic disorders. The inpatient treatment focus is on crisis stabilization and medication management by a psychiatrist, with an average length of stay of between five and 10 days. Our group treatment program focus is on the management of symptoms that cut across all diagnoses. These include mood, sleep, anxiety, substance use, and safety. We use evidence-based approaches, such as mindfulness and best practices, as well as our Serenity Room, to achieve sufficient stabilization of symptoms for a prompt, safe discharge back to the community or next level of care.
“Thank you to everyone for being helpful and kind during my time here. It truly was [a] life-changing experience."
