Positive Aging
Positive Aging EMPOWER NOW is a dynamic, evidence-based mental health and wellness program serving Montgomery County senior residents who may be struggling to find joy in aging.
The program offers comprehensive on-site behavioral health treatment and case management services to seniors and their families.
Options for individual seniors include intake/ evaluation and triage; short-term, clinic-based counseling; social service referrals; limited home therapy; case management, and fun and informative psychotherapy support groups and mental health educational seminars.
We currently implement this plan at three locations in Montgomery County – Rockville Senior Center, Benjamin Gaither Center, and The Oaks at Olde Towne.
Accessible Services
Seniors will seek help when services are easily accessible. When the therapist is based at their apartment complex or senior center, they can just stop by to ‘talk to a friend,’ rather than viewing it as another ‘doctor’ appointment. The convenience and comfort of on-site counseling makes all the difference to them when receiving mental health counseling.
