The Lodge Program at Frost School is accredited by the Maryland State Department of
Education as a Level V special education facility for 35 children and
adolescents with severe emotional difficulties. It offers a full middle and
senior high school program using the Montgomery County Public School
curriculum. Areas of study include Mathematics, English, Fine and Practical
Arts, Foreign Language, Physical Education, Health Education, Social Studies,
Science, Career Education, Remedial Education, Technology Education, and
Cooperative Work Experience. Classes are small (averaging 5-6 students per
teacher) allowing for maximum communication, highly individualized attention to
students' needs, and the flexibility to respond quickly to changes and growth
in the students. Additionally students are involved in weekly individual,
group, and family therapies. A Careers/Workstudy Program offers students an
opportunity to experience a variety of career options and to earn credits for
actual paid employment while still attending school.
