The Jefferson School is approved as a full day and residential special education school, and as a licensed residential treatment center, which serves children and adolescents with emotional and other disabilities who need more services than can be provided in a regular school. Located on a rural site in Frederick County, Maryland, the Jefferson School is equipped for 84 students, ages 12 through 21, including 34 day students and 50 residential students and operates 12 months per year.

The Jefferson School also operates a Vocational Program for up to 16 adolescents and youth ages 14 to 21. Emphasizing the transition from school to work, post-secondary education and training are provided, as well as independent living skills.

Directions:
Take I-70 West to Frederick. Take Exit 52 (Rte. 15/340 South). Continue on Rte. 340 to Exit 8 (Lander Rd., Jefferson). Turn left onto Lander Rd. and follow it to Rte. 464. (NOTE: Lander bears right at the junction where Lander becomes Fry Rd.) Turn right onto Rte. 464 (Point of Rocks Rd.) The school entrance is approximately .75 miles on the right at 2940 Point of Rocks Rd.
