Nurse

Performs a full range of professional psychiatric nursing services, including assessing, planning, administering, and evaluating patient care, primarily geared to a specific (adult, adolescent, child, geriatric, trauma disorders, psychotic disorders) patient population in accordance with team treatment plan. Communicates with patients based on an understanding of the developmental needs of adults. Administers medical treatment as prescribed by physician and is responsible for teaching and providing psychosocial support to patients and their families.

Work requires current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland at the time of appointment and continuously throughout tenure in the position and maintenance of professional knowledge and skills through attendance at professional meetings, workshops, courses, and in-service sessions.

Mental Health Worker

Under the close supervision of the Registered Nurse, participates in the planning and evaluation of patient needs based on patient behaviors. Provides direct patient care services in accordance with the treatment plan and under the direction of a professional nurse. Communicates with patients based on an understanding of the developmental needs of adults. Assists in providing a safe and therapeutic environment according to established policies and procedures.

Work requires written and oral communication skills sufficient to communicate effectively and maintain documentation as normally acquired through completion of high school.

An Associates' degree in psychology or work experience with persons with disabilities preferred.

Teacher

Responsible for the academic teaching and behavioral management of assigned pre-school, elementary, middle- and/or high school-aged students. Understanding the developmental needs of children or adolescents and demonstrated knowledge of age-specific student needs in instruction. Creates appropriate learning environment in classroom setting. Monitors, evaluates, and reports on students' progress.


Must possess professional level of knowledge of education/child development normally acquired by completing a bachelor's degree program and, in the case of secondary level teachers, Maryland State Department of Education certification in specific subject area, at the time of appointment. Must possess Maryland State Department of Education certification in Special Education in the area of emotional disturbance within two years of employment, which would generally be acquired by completing 18 semester hours of graduate credit beyond a Bachelor's degree.

Teacher's Assistant

Working either with assigned students or with a specific, assigned student in a one-to-one relationship, provides the additional structure, supervision, and instruction to assist the teacher in achieving the goals and objectives of the student's Individual Education Plan (IEP).


Work requires the ability to read, write, and speak English well enough to maintain student documentation and ability to take direction from supervising teacher as normally acquired through high school education.
